How We Make Your Phone Tree

Each phone tree starts as a block of solid wood in our shop in Nashville.  We start by planing that wood into a perfect rectangle, then we carefully sketch the curves of the tree onto the block.  Using a bandsaw, we cut the curves piece by piece to produce the beautiful tree shape.  The hand sawing process makes sure that each phone tree is unique - no two phone trees are exactly the same.  

After cutting out the initial tree shape we test it to make sure each branch will hold a phone securely.  Then it's time for details.  We use a router to round the edges of the tree on each side, then hand sand all faces to ensure a smooth-to-the-touch feel.  

After the raw phone tree is looking great we apply a finish to it such as an oil based furniture polish.  This helps preserve the tree for many years to come.  

Next we attach the tree to its stand - but before we do, we engrave the bottom with the Phone Tree info and one of our favorite verses from scripture -

"This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it" Psalm 118:24 

This verse reminds us of our "why".  We want everyone to treat each day as a gift from God - and that involves fighting against the forces of distraction in our lives to be present with those we love.   

After this final step we package your tree in foam and some padding and send it off to its forever home.  We hope you take pictures and send them to us so we can see where it landed after all that hard work.
